Private 6-Day Xinjiang Province Tour

This 6-day tour gives everybody the opportunity to explore Xinjiang Province. The highlights include Heavenly Lake,Gaochang Ancient City,Grape Valley.

Day01: Arrive in Urumqi
The guide will meet you at Urumqi Airport, and transfer you to hotel. On the way, you’ll get greeted by this attractive city. After arrive in hotel , rest and acclimatize overnight in Urumqi !

Day02: Travel in Urumqi! Full day trip to Heavenly Lake, Boat for Cruise on the Heavenly Lake. Overnight in Urumqi! (Breakfast, Chinese Lunch)
–Heavenly Lake: The Heavenly Lake (Tianchi Lake) is located half way up Bogda Peak in Fukang County, 110km east of Urumqi City. As a natural alpine lake, it has an elevation of 1,980 meters. In the shape of a half moon, the lake is 3,400 meters long, about 1,500 meters wide, and 105 meters at the deepest point. With limpid water, the lake shines like a sapphire under the sun and is surrounded by green mountains. At the southeast end of the lake is the magnificent Bogda Peak, meaning “Sacred Mountain” in the Mongolian language.

Day 3: Urumqi  (Breakfast, Chinese Lunch)

Full day trip to  Mount Nan Pasture, The Terai Camp，and then drive to Turpan directly and stay overnight there.

-Mount Nan Pasture:80 kilometers from urban area,Enjoy the sights of grassland; try the life of people in the grassland
–The Terai Camp: A special experience of Kazak nomad life here,have a cup of milk tea and taste some really local food.

Day 4 Turpan (Breakfast, Chinese Lunch)
Full day trip to Thousand Buddha Caves of Tuyuq Valley, Gaochang Ancient City, Astana Tombs.

–Thousand Buddha Caves of Tuyuq Valley:It’s a treasure trove of Indo-Buddhist art dating from the 4th-8th centuries CE. Despite the depredations of early European explorers, these chapels adorned with their lapis lazuli wall paintings offer us a rare and precious glimpse of early Buddhist arts of the Silk Road.
–Gaochang Ancient City:Gaochang Ancient City located at the east of Turpan, the city-state that ruled the area from the 9th century to the 13th. The city was actually founded a few hundred years earlier than that, and gradually became known as a trading post on the Silk Road.Most of the ruins are gone, but enough remain to give a feeling of the true size and majesty of this Silk Road city. The city was divided into an outer city, an inner city, and a palace compound. The best-preserved structures in the ruins are two temples in the southwest and southeast corners of the outer city section.
–Astana Tombs:It is located in the Gobi Desert in the north of Gaochang, 40 kilometers away from Turpan city.At the Ancient Tombs of Astana, thousands of treasure historical relics had been unearthed, including mummy, writing, inscription, painting, earthen figurine, stone wares, pottery wares, wood wares, bronze wares, iron wares, gold wares, silver wares, cotton, silk ,wool, ancient coins and so on. Therefore, the Ancient Tombs of Astana is called the”Gaochang’s live history record and underground museum in the Turpan area.”

-Day05: Turpan to Urumqi  (Breakfast, Chinese Lunch)

We will visit Suleiman’s Minaret, Karez Well, Grape Valley in Turpan.And after that we drive back to Urumqi! Overnight in Urumqi!
–Suleiman’s Minaret:The Sugong Tower is the biggest ancient pagoda existing in Xinjiang and the only Islamic ancient padoga in the country.It is located at the Munage village, 2 kilometers away from the Turpan city in the east.
-Karez Well: The Karez Water System Folkways Paradise is located at the Ya’er country in Turpan city, 3 kilometers away from the city urban, and 2 kilometers away from the 312 national highway in the south.This irrigation system of wells connected by underground channels is considered to be one of the three great ancient projects in China.
-Grape Valley: The Grape Valley is located in Flaming Mountain. From ancient times, Grape Valley has been famous for the cultivation of the sweetest, tastiest grapes. Be enticed by the sight of bunches of green pearl-like grapes hanging from the vines in splendid profusion. It’s a great relief to recline in the shade of the green leaves and delight in the fresh juicy fruit, appreciating the coolness after the heat outside.

Day06:Urumqi to Departure City. (breakfast)
Leave Urumqi . Pack your luggage and get ready for leaving. The guide will transfer you to the airport, and help you board the plane. Say goodbye to Xinjiang and fly out.

It’s a heavy day with a lot of walking. So be sure to wear comfortable shoes and have a good sleep the day before

‘The quotated price is for a tour between 8 hours,additional hours are billed $15  per hour  for the guide and $15 per hour for the driver.
