Following a morning pickup from your accommodation in Zhangjiakou city center at 8:30am, meet your private guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle.
Your exploration begins with a visit to the stunning Temple of Heaven visited by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven. Watching local people doing morning exercises and you are welcome to join!
The Temple of Heaven is one of several worship sites in the capital where the emperors offered sacrifices.The Temple of Heaven was constructed between 1406 and 1420 during the reign of Ming Emperor YongLe (reign: 1403-1424), who also oversaw the creation of the Forbidden City during the same period.
Next, you will visit the Beijing Zoo. As the home for 14,500 animals, the zoo was founded in 1906 during the late Qing dynasty. Like many of Beijing’s parks, the zoo’s grounds resemble classical Chinese gardens, with flower beds amidst natural scenery. Here, you will visit the cute pandas, and feel free to discuss with your tour guide on what else you want to see in the zoo.

Continue to a well-preserved royal garden: the Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed in the World Heritage Sites and considered as one of the most classical gardens of the world. Accompanied by your tour guide, you will visit the Long corridor, marble boat, Hall of Happiness and Longevity and more. You will take the dragon boat on the Kunming lake to enjoy a different view of the palace.
Afterwards, you will return to your hotel in Zhangjiakou city center around 5:30pm.
