Longmen Grottoes – White Horse Temple – Old Street
In the morning, our experienced guide and driver will wait for you at the lobby of your self-booked hotel in Luoyang, or outside the railway station. If taking the high speed train for a round-trip, we recommend you arrive at Luoyang Longmen Railway Station before 10:00am and book tickets for a train leaving after 18:00.
After a warming greeting, we will escort you to the Longmen Grottoes to start this private classic Luoyang city trip immediately. The scenic area consists of not only fascinating natural landscape of hills and water, but also fantastic rock carvings of Buddha and stone tablets. Paying a visit to this well-known world cultural heritage site will be a highlight of your 1-day Luoyang tour package.
After lunch, you will be guided to the White Horse Temple to have a nice glimpse of the vivid Buddhist statues and valuable stone steles inside. Later, our guide will accompany you to ramble over the Old Street – a bustling pedestrian street for tourists to experience local people’s daily life as well as the strong historical and cultural atmosphere. You can also have a chance to taste various kinds of delicacies in Luoyang at the mean time.

Longmen Grottoes
Located on the precipices in the south of Luoyang, Longmen Grottoes contains more than 2,300 sacred niches, 2,800 exquisite steles, and 100,000 Buddhist statues, which are mostly scattered on the west bank of Yi River. It took about 500 years to reach the present scale, and it is regarded as the top one scenic spot among the widely known Eight Sights of Luoyang, embraced by tranquil and pleasing surroundings.
Old Street
With a long history of more than 3,000 years, the Old Street in the northeast of Luoyang and is brimmed with a number of precious cultural relics and historic sites. Many distinctive dwellings and buildings with brick walls and grey-tiled roof are well-preserved and arranged orderly along the street. Rambling over the flagstone walkways, you can easily imagine the prosperity of Luoyang back in old days and catch sight of local people’s daily life.
