Beijing Chengdu Jiuzhaigou Yangtze Cruise Shanghai 14 Day Tour

Day 01  Arrival in Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, met and transferred to your hotel in Beijing. Free for the rest of the day.

Day 02   Beijing ( B L )

Beginning the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square, the most largest square of this kind in the world. Then move on to the imperial palace, also known as the Forbidden City that symbolizes the imperial and traditional China. After lunch go on with the visit of Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. Back to hotel.

Day 03  Beijing ( B L D )

Today’s highlight is to visit the Badaling Great Wall, symbol of Chinese civilization. After lunch, continue a visit to Dingling, one of the Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors were buried in Ming Dynasty. Peking Duck dinner and Peking Opera Show in the evening.

Day 04   Beijing – Chengdu by air ( B D )

Take the morning flight for Chengdu. Arriving at Chengdu Airport, met by our local Englih speaking tour guide and transferred to our designated hotel in downtown Chengdu. First visit Wangjiang Tower Park. It is one of three famous cultural sites in Chengdu. The other two are Wuhou Temple and the Du Fu Cottage. It is located on the south bank of Jinjiang River of Chengdu dedicated to a woman, Xue Tao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The 39-meter high Wangjiang Tower is the tallest building in the park. The park is also famous for its elegant garden of bamboo. After Chinese dinner, head to Jinli Old Street. The Jinli Old Street was first built as a commercial street during the Shu Kingdom (221 A.D.-263 A.D.). It was rebuilt in 2004 in the traditional architectural style of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The over 350-meter long Jinli Old Street is the presentation of Chengdu ordinary city life. Transferred to your hotel in Chengdu and rest of day free at leisure.

Day 05   Chengdu ( B L D )After breakfast at your hotel, head to Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre, 10 km north of Chengdu city center. The Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center has been constructed and imitated the pandas’ natural habitat in the hope that they could have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. There you can see pandas almost in their natural environment as they have plenty of space around them. They are incredibly cute to watch. They spend most of their day eating bamboo. After lunch, move on to Sanxingdui Museum, 30 km north of the giant panda center. Sanxingdui Museum is a cultural relic of the ancient Shu (Sichuan). Sanxingdui refers to three earth piles at the site, hence Sanxingdui Relic. The museum was formally opened to public in October 1997. The displays also provide foreigners with information about the history of China. Back to your hotel and rest of day free at leisure.

Day 06   Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou by air ( B L D )

After breakfast, transferred to the airport for flight to Jiuzhaigou. Driving 2-3 hours and transferred to Huanglong Scenic Area. Huanglong Scenic Area was made a world natural heritage site in 1992. After 3-4 hours’ sightseeing, drive 160km and get to Jiuzhaigou scenic area. Stay at Jiuzhaigou.

Day 07  Jiuzhaigou ( B L D )

Full day sightseeing in Jiuzhaigou (World Heritage Area ). It is a fairyland called Jiuzhaigou Nine-Village Valley, which is the home of nine Tibetan villages. The valley is 50 kilometers in length.

Day 08   Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu – Chongqing by air + train ( B L D ) After breakfast, transferred to the airport for flight to Chengdu, then take train for Chongqing. Board your cruise ship for the Three Gorges river journey. Overnight on board.

Day 09   Chongqing – Fengdu (Ghost City) on board ( B L D )

The cruise starts at 9:00. Excursion to Fengdu (Ghost city), a must- shore excursion site on the Yangtze cruise ( B L D )

Day 10  Yangtze Cruise on board ( B L D )

Excursion to Baidicheng. Passing Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, Drifting in the Shennong Stream. Passing Dam Shiplock, the Three Gorges Dam will be the largest hydropower station and dam in the world.

Day 11Y  ichang – Shanghai by air ( B L )

Passing Xiling Gorge. Arrival at Yichang, on the the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. After lunch, transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take the afternoon flight for Shanghai. Met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai.

Day 12 Shanghai ( B L D ) After breakfast, Pick up from your hotel in Shanghai. First come to People’s Square in the city center, covering 140,000 square meters, surrounded by the municipal government office building, the Shanghai Museum, Shanghai City Planning Exhibition Hall and the Grand Theatre. Then walk to the Nanjing Pedestrian Road. It is regarded as the first commercial street in Shanghai. It was first built in 1851. Now Nanjing Road has turned into the number one site for shopping in the city. Then move on to The Bund, one of the most noted waterfront and architectural symbols of Shanghai.

After lunch, go to Shanghai’s new zone – Pudong ( east of Huangpu River) and ascend Jinmao Tower to have an eye-bird’s view of Shanghai city. Then move to Yu yuan Garden, a classical Qing Dynasty garden with over 30 pavilions linked by a maze of corridors and bridges over ponds, Yu Market. Finally take one hour cruising on Huang Pu River. Back to your hotel.

Day 13  Shanghai ( B )

You enjoy a freeday in Shanghai.

Day 14   Exit From Shanghai ( B )

Transfer to airport for departure or free on your own.
