5 Days Photography Tour to Dongchuan Red Land
Day 1 Arrival in Kunming
Upon arrival, our guide and driver will pick you up at the Kunming Airport, and then provide you with a comfortable ride to a downtown hotel. After check-in, you will be accompanied on a visit to the Green Lake Park to get a first impression of the city.

Day 2 Kunming
Today, you will have a morning tour to the famous Stone Forest. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and then escort you there. Hundreds of millions of years of erosions have sculpted rocks in the Stone Forest into a variety of shapes. Let your imagination fly. You are able to find pinnacles resembling elephant, lion, lotus, rhinoceros and even figures in folk legends, under the guidance of our guide.
After lunch, continue our Kunming to Donchuan Red Land tour to Jiuxiang Scenic Area, which is known as the museum of karst caves, to see a large number of strangely-shaped stalactites. Get out of the caves and we will head back to the hotel in Kunming.

Day 3 Kunming – Dongchuan Red Land
Today’s Kunming photography tour will lead you to Dongchuan Red Land, which is the paradise for shutterbugs. We will arrive there by a 3 hours’ drive. Dongchuan Red Land is nicknamed as a natural color palette as each piece of land presents different bright colors under sunlight, like red, orange, jade green, and scarlet. With the company of our guide, you will take pictures of marvelous scenes from different angles at Qicaipo, Luoxiagou, Laolongshu, Yuepu’ao, Luoshiwan, and Waliangfang.
At night, the guide will lead you to check in at the Shanju Hotel in Dongchuan.

Day 4 Dongchuan Red Land – Kunming
If weather permits, you are able to take in the brilliant sunrise over the colorful land at Damakan early in the morning. Then our guide will accompany you to wander around the fields and immerse in beautiful vista at Jinxiuyuan.
After finishing the photography Dongchuan Red Land Tour from Kunming, we will head back to Kunming.

Day 5 Departure from Kunming
Before heading for the airport, our guide will escort you to have more fun at the Dragon Gate in Western Hills. There you are able to take in the full view of the boundless Dianchi Lake as well as the Kunming City. Then a private ride will take you to the airport for your departure flight.

Friendly Tips1. The best time to set out for this Dongchuan Red Land Tour from Kunming is during September ~ December, when rapes, potatoes and buckwheat are being harvested and the winter wheat is sprouting. The land is rich in colors at that time. As well roadside aspen trees and lacquer trees turn bright yellow and red in the meantime, making colors there more abundant.
2. Visitors are also recommended to come in January or February, for some pieces of land are irrigated by water, looking like winding ribbons staggered on the hillside.
3. May and June is another good visiting time when yellow rape flowers bloom and golden wheat is ripe
