4 Days Trip to Qingdao, Qufu and Tai’an

Day 1 Arrival in Qingdao

Upon arrival in Qingdao, you will be greeted by our guide outside the airport or high-speed rail station. It is advisable for you to reach the city before 14:00 in order to connect with the afternoon tour. After picking you up, our Qingdao tour guide and driver will transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

After settling in, we will set out for Zhan Bridge to start this private Qingdao 4 days tour. Built in 1891, Zhan Bridge is therefore over 100 years old with a length of 440 meters (480 yards). Ending at the delicate Huilan Pavilion, the straight bridge will enchant you with its absorbing seascapes. After an easy stroll on the long bridge, you will be accompanied to Small Qingdao Island to the southeast. The island is connected with the shore by a long dike. Seen from afar, it seems like a garden at sea with strange rocks, green plants, and an outstanding white lighthouse. When the visit is over, we will transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 2 Qingdao – Qufu

After breakfast, we will start off the day with the Qingdao Beer Museum. It is a large-scale beer museum housing century-old German brewing equipment allowing people to have a better understanding of the renowned Tsingtao Beer. Next, our guide will lead you to Badaguan Scenic Area, a must-see place in Qingdao full of European-style and castle-like buildings amid various kinds of trees and flowers along the main streets.

After a lunch break, follow the guide to take a walk along the fascinating coastline to May Fourth Square, where you can see the city’s landmark – a red sculpture named “Wind of May”. Later, you will be guided to the southeast to visit the Olympic Sailing Center. There, two showy statues of Beijing Olympic torch and rings will greet you, and you can also see splendid spectacle of many national flags waving in the wind and beautiful sailboats berthing in the harbor.

Afterwards, we will transfer you to the high-speed rail station for a 3.5-hour train journey to Qufu. Upon arrival, the Qufu tour guide will greet you and escort you to the hotel.

Day 3 Qufu – Tai’an

Today a journey to seek Confucian culture awaits you, and it begins with the Confucius Temple – which has been a vital place for people, even emperors, to pay their respects to Confucius, a renowned ideologist and educationalist during the Spring and Autumn Period (770 – 476 BC). Then, accompanied by the guide, you will pay a visit to the Confucius Family Mansion where descendants of this great scholar resided for generations.

In the afternoon, we will proceed to Cemetery of Confucius – the well-preserved mausoleum for the family from the Confucius to his 76th generation. Later, you will be transferred to Tai’an by a 1.5 hours’ drive, and then check in at the hotel there.

Day 4 Departure from Tai’an

In the morning, we will take a comfortable ride to Mount Taishan. The round trip cable cars are included in our price. Topping the “Five Sacred Mountains” in China, Mount Taishan boasts pretty natural landscape and precious rock inscriptions. On arrival at the scenic area, we will transfer to an eco-car to Mid-Heaven Gate (Zhongtianmen) from where you will walk for about ten minutes to take the cable car to South Heaven Gate (Nantianmen). Next, you will climb for 30 minutes to the top along stone steps. After lunch, reverse the trip to the mountain foot, and after a 20 minutes’ drive take a 1-hour visit to Dai Temple.

Your 4 days private Qingdao tour to Qufu and Taishan mountain will end here. We will escort you to Tai’an railway station and see you off there. We suggest you take a train departing after 17:00.

Friendly Tips

From Tai’an, it takes about 2 hours, 3 hours and 4 hours to reach Beijing, Qingdao and Shanghai respectively by high-speed train; if intending to leave by air, it is suggested you take a high-speed train to Jinan and transfer to Jinan Airport, where direct flights to most cities in China are available.
