Pick up from your hotel in Xian. First drive 200km north of Xian and get to Huangdi Mausoleum. It is the burial site of the Chinese legendary Yellow Emperor. Huangdi Mausoleum is the tomb of Huangdi( Chinese legendary Yellow Emperor ), hidden inside the dense evergreen cypresses on Mt.Qiao (Bridge). Mt.Qiao is such named because it looks like a bridge.
Huangdi, or Yellow Emperor is the legendary ancestor for all Chinese. His ancestral name is Gongsun and his given name Xuanyuan. It is said that He reigned from 2696–2598 BC. He is considered as the initiator of Chinese civilization – invented weapons, the wells and fields system; upper and lower garments, established palaces and houses, early Chinese astronomy, the Chinese calendar, math calculations, code of sound laws…
After lunch, move on to Xuanyuan Temple. Located at the foot of the Bridge Mountain, Xuanyuan Temple is also called Huangdi Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). A new part of the sacrificial temple complex was built in the 1993 restoration architecture. The shrine is approximately 8000 square meters in size and is made entirely of granite. Now every year some sacrifices to ancestors are held here even as a national activity.
