5 Days Lijiang & Shangri-La Tour

Upon arrival, you will meet our professional guide and driver at the customs of Lijiang Airport. You will have a comfortable private transfer to the well-selected hotel. Lunch is served at a local restaurant after your check-in. We will begin this 5-day private Lijiang & Shangri-La tour with the Lijiang Old Town. The ancient city has been guarded by the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain for over 800 years. Strolling along the crisscrossing streets, you can catch sight of wooden folk houses, flagstone bridges and lucid rivers, and view the eminent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from a distance. After getting the first impression of Lijiang, you will be escorted to the hotel to check in.

In the morning, the guide will accompany to sight-see Baisha Village, where Dongba Culture originated. It is full of antiquated architectures. A visit to a family of Naxi nationality will help you blend in with the local life. Later, you will have a visual feast by viewing the lively Baisha Murals. Next, we will head for the Former Residence of Joseph Rock to learn the life story of this American explorer who introduced the Naxi minority and the singular Dongba culture to the world.

After lunch, you will be guided to the Black Dragon Pool Park. A crystal clear spring pool reflecting the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain quietly lies in the middle of the park. The folklore Dongba Culture Museum will be the last stop of today’s private Lijiang tour package.

After breakfast, we will head for Shangri-La for a comfortable ride. On the way, we will first stop at the First Bend of the Yangtze River to see the v-shaped course and the Shigu Town, a rural village surrounded by mountains with idyllic scenery. Later, get off the car at the Tiger Leaping Gorge to watch the turbulent river and the roaring waves. When arriving in Shangri-La, our guide will help you check in a hotel.

Today’s private Shangri-La tour will start with the Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Yunnan. Because of the grand scale and palatial layout, it gains the reputation of being the “Tiny Potala Palace”. Later, pay a visit to a Tibetan family to taste hot buttered tea and have a small talk with the host.

After lunch, the guide will lead you to the Bita Lake and Shudu Lake to appreciate the picturesque landscape of snow peaks, luxuriant trees, and clear sky.
