Day 1 :Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park.
Your tour guide will pick you up at 8:00am, then heading directly to Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park.
Undulating fiery-red ridges together with amazing multicolored mountain folds transform the park into an immense sea of fire with rolling waves, earning it the reputation of China’s Rainbow Mountains and also one of the ‘Top 10 Geographical Wonders of the World’ selected by the National Geographic.
Zhangye Danxia Geopark’s geological structure is formed by rocks piling on top of one another. It means that after billions of years of weathering and water erosion, together with the influences brought by the special geological structure, climate change, and wind power, the red sandstones, psephites and pelites have shaped into isolated mountains and steep rocks. The sandstones’ bright colors make the Geopark an attractive tourist destination to experience the masterpieces of nature.

Day 2: Zhangye City Exploration
Your tour guide will pick you up in your hotel’s lobby then heading direclty to the Giant Buddha Temple and the Zhangye Museum. The Giant Buddha Temple is renowned for the largest indoor reclining Buddha. It is said that this giant Buddha statue is made in the image of Sakyamuni. Learn the stories and histories with your tour guide while walking. Admire numerous scriptures.
Continue to Zhangye Museum to see the displayed cultural relics which reflect the history of ancient Zhangye.
Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then drive one hour to the Mati Temple Grottoes. It is a unique temple housing buildings of both Han Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. Follow the guide to admire the Buddha statues carved in the caves and appreciate the painted scriptures of heroes in Tibetan myths.
After that, the guide will escort you back to the hotel.
Day 3.Zhangye – Xining (by bullet train)
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Zhangye, then take the morning train to Xining .(2 hours)
After Lunch, you will visit Ta’er Monastery.also It was founded in 1583 in a narrow valley close to the village of Lusar in the historical Tibetan region of Amdo. It houses over 800 monks and is a wonderful, brightly colored architectural complex that contains 9,300 rooms and 52 halls, including Buddha halls, scripture halls, Buddhist pagodas and lamas residences. The monastery is actually comprised of several temples, scripture chanting halls, Buddhist pagodas and monk housing, and incorporates both Tibetan and Han Chinese architectural styles.
Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Xining(Booked on your own)
Day 4 Xining
Your English speaking tour guide will pick you up in your Xining Hotel’s lobby at 8:30am, then heading directly to Qinghai Lake .
Qinghai Lake (KokoNor) is the biggest inland salt lake inChina. The most charming and attractive place in QinghaiLake is the Bird Island. It situated on the western shore of the Lake, and because of the receding water off its shores, the BirdIsland has been turned into a peninsula. 164 species of birds have been identified at the lake. In spring and summer, the lake is ideal for ornithologists and bird-lovers, such as swan, wild goose, gulls, heron and petrel etc. Qinghai Lake is not only China’s largest inland lake but also China’s largest saltwater lake. Its altitude is about 3193m high. It is about 104 km from east to west and 62 km from north to south. The lake’s perimeter is about 360 km and has an area of 4200 square kilometers. It is surrounding by mountains which are about 3600 ~ 5000 meters high.

After your tour of the Qinghai Lake finished ,you will be transferred back to your hotel in Xining.
