The Monguor or Tu people, White Mongol/Tsagaan Mongol are a ethnic group lives mostly in the Qinghai and Gansu provinces.Huzhu Tu Minority People’s Autonomous County is located at the junction of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau. The unique geographical location has shaped a unique natural landscape there.
Day 01: Xining-Huzhu
Drive to Huzhu, visit the Tu Minority People’s Native Land Scenic Area firstly, which lies in Weiyuan town of Huzhu and is a highlight spot for visitors. The Tu Minority People believes in the Lamaism and they are well at singing and dancing. There, you will have the chance to appreciate the charm of Tu People’s ethnic culture and custom. The best time for visit is on Tu People’s local festivals such as on May 5th, Jun 6th and Sep 9th when the Hua’er Vocal Concert – the typical local performance will be held. Then proceed to pay a visit to Xiaozhuang village which is a demonstration center for agricultural tourism. It is a natural village inhabited by Tu People and the visitors are attracted mostly by the fancy embroidery and colorful folk activities.
Day 2: Huzhu-Xining
Drive to visit the Youning Temple and the Wufeng Mountain. The Youning Temple (also called Guolong Temple) is located in Wushi County about 35 kilometers east of Huzhu. It is one of the Tibetan Buddhism with a history of 400 years and has developed as the religious pilgrimage scenic spots nowadays. After lunch, drive to Huzhu Wufeng Mountain which is in the northwest of Huzhu. On the mountain stands the Wufeng Temple built in Ming Qing dynasty. There you can relax yourself to enjoy the green trees, the rolling mountains, the clear conduit and the grand waterfall.Then, drive back to Xining,end tour.
